Mr. Schwartz attended the State University of New York at Albany (B.S., 1967) and Southwestern University School of Law (J.D., 1974). He was admitted to the California State Bar in December, 1974.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Schwartz spent seven years as a defense attorney representing major corporations. In 1982, he joined the plaintiffs' bar and has since specialized in representing plaintiffs on a contingency fee basis in major personal injury and product liability litigation, insurance bad faith matters including business litigation and professional liability cases. More recently, Mr. Schwartz has specialized in representing employees and consumers in major class actions.
Mr. Schwartz has been lecturing and writing about consumer law since the early 80's. His articles have been published in major California legal magazines and newspapers. He was featured in People magazine on the issue of the danger of sports utility vehicles. Mr. Schwartz has appeared on various television programs and has lectured for the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, Consumer Attorneys of California and various Bar Associations.
